DAIRY PRODUCE.

AT THE MANAWATU SHOW. DETAILS OF AWARDS. The dairy produce section at the Mannwatu Show this year easily constitutes a reThe judges comment that it was a pleasing feature to note that the number cf entries show a large increase over former years, exhibits coming forward from both islands. Owing to the increase in the number of exhibits, the selection of the prize-winners proved a difficult matter, the average quality being of a high standard. In the class for first assistants, some very fine exhibits, were staged, and the Manawatu A. & P. Association deserves credit for placing this class in the schedule, as factory managers of the future deserve every encouragement. With very few exceptions, the flavor of the exhibits Is very satisfactory, while the body and texture leave little to be desired. The finish and general get-up of the cheese reflect credit on the makers, and the Wanganui Freezing Co. are also to be congratulated on the very satisfactory conditions under which the cheese were stored. Commenting on the butter, they remark that It is pleasing to note an increase in the number of entries over last year. The quality as represented in the butter classes was of a high standard, only a few exhibits showing the effect of the 10 weeks' storage period. The body and texture of the butter were very • fine and reflect credit on the makers. A few of the exhibits were rather too lightly saJted. The packing and general get-up of the exhibits leave little to be desired. Results are as follow: CHEESE AWARDS.
