DAIRY PRODUCE.

MANAWATU SHOW AWARDS. SOME TARANAKI SUCCESSES. DETAILS OF COMPETITIONS. (By Wire —Special Reporter.) Palmerston N., Last Night. The dairy produce section is a very strong feature of the Manawatu Show this year, there being 176 entries in the seven butter classes and 254 entries in the 12 cheese classes. In the butter section, Taranaki is represented by North Taranaki, Maketawa, and Moa Farmers. While the grading is fairly high in the various classes, the only one to touch prize-money is Maketawa, which is bracketed third with two other factories in an export box class. In cheese, Taranaki is more strongly -e--presented by Alton, Lowgarth, Kaupokonui and Kakaramea. Kaupokonui (C. Sutter) wins in the class for factory cheese by a cheesemaker or first assistant, and Kaupokonui (S. Jones) is second in the novice class. Kaupokonui also ties with three others for the Viking Rennet special. Alton (A. Illingworth) is third in the fullcream Cheddar class, and fourth in New Zealand Factory Managers’ Association and in the novice class, also second in the Clement Cup, awarded on the average grade plus the average classes in the championship classes.
