A NEW BOOK.
i From the Australasian Publishing Co., Ltd., 218 Clarence Street, Sydney, we have received a new novel by Robert Keable, known first as the author of several devotional books, but best known in regard to his love story “Simon Called Peter.” His new story, which is set in South Africa, and has no connection with the war, is a study of feminine character. It is distinguished by the forceful presentment of human passion that gave to “Simon Called Peter” its peculiar quality, but the incidents are those of normal life, and not of a time of war-fever. That the author writes with brilliance and vigor no one has denied, and his descriptions of Africa in “The Mother of All Living” bring vividly before the eye the life and landscape , of a country with which he is thoroughly familiar. The story is very well told, i and is extremely interesting.
