Dr. Hammer, of New York, has returned from Russia, and announces that Lenin lias granted him a concession in the Ural mountains >at Exaterinsburg of approximately a thousand square miles. He states that the tract contains vast deposits of asbestos and aluminium. He has alrady begun activities there, introducing modern machinery. Dr. Hammer displayed a letter written in English and dated May 10, in which Lenin says he has been very sick but is much better. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
