THE AIR TRAGEDY.

MELBOURNE’S DEAD HERO. ARRIVAL OF THE REMAINS, By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received June IG, 10.50 p.m. Melbourne, June 16. There was an impressive scene on the arrival of the steamer Largs Bay with the body‘of Lieutenant Bennett, who was killed with Sir Ross Smith in the air disaster. As the vessel was moored the crew lined the decks in man-o’-war style and other ships in port paid homage to the dead airman. Wharf labourers ceased work and doffed their hats as the red ensign was run up to half mast. All traffic on the water front was suspended as the' coffin was borne to Parliament House, where the body will lie in State until Satur-day.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
