ACCIDENT IN A GOAL.

DEATH OF A PRISONER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. As a result of an accident at the Mount Eden Gaol, a prisoner named Ernest Beehre, aged 37, a married man, received fatal injuries. Beehre was leading a horse which was drawing a truck along a trolley-line, when he slipped and fell and the truck passed over both legs, one of which was practically severed. Beehre died in hospital about an hour later.
