FIRES IN CINEMAS. BOMBS IN BELFAST. MURDERS AND RAIDS. f ■ ■ By Telegraph.—Press Aasn.—Copyright. Received June 14, 5.5 p.m. London, June 13. Two cinemas in Fall Road, Belfast, were extensively damaged by fire, caused by incendiary bombs, six of which did not explode and were found when the fire was extinguished. A concealed sniper in North Queen Street, Belfast, shot William Smith dead while he was chatting on the street corner. Incendiaries caused heavy damage tonight at Crowther’s engineering and McManus’ paint works at Belfast. The German steamer Stella, Maris, from Hamburg, was fired on and stopped when entering Queenstown. A search has so far failed to disclose that she is carrying any arms or ammunition. A man was shot dead and two were wounded, and several houses were burnt and others fusilladed, in North Tipperary. Practically all the occupants or their relatives have been connected with British service. A number of ex-policemen were compelled to leave under threat of death. The house of Mr. Green, a farmers’ candidate, at Rathcormaek, was attacked by machinegunners. Green, who had withdrawn his candidature, was wounded five times and taken away in a motor-car.
