PLAY IN ENGLAND. POSITION OF THE COUNTIES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 11, 5.5 p.m. London, June 10. Surrey, 501 for eight wickets, declared against Leicester, 834 and 316 for five wickets, the innings being declared. Mounteney made 131 not out. Surrey, in their second Innings, made 153 for four wickets and won by six wickets. Hoping to force a win, Leicester closed their second innings when they had made 316 for five wickets, leaving Surrey to get 150 in 80 minutes. This they accomplished in 63 minutes, with the loss of four wickets, chiefly owing to a remarkable display by Fender, who made 91 not out. He hit 17 fours, 2 sixes, and scored 38 in the last eight mlnutes. Surrey and Yorkshire are level in the county cricket championship, with 87 pointe each. The other counties are: Lancashire, 77; Notts, 75; Middlesex, 71; Hampshire, 57; Kent, 56; Sussex, 55; Essex, 45.
