FIRES.

IN TE AWAMUTU DISTRICT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Te Awamatu, June 10. A fire gutted a small block of wooden shops last night. The buildings were owned by J. Decock, and occupied by Stite, a painter, and Eles and Company, electrical engineers. Practically everything was destroyed. It is understood the building was insured, but the contents were not insured. A store at Tekawa, eight miles away, was burned to the ground early in the week. It nas owned by F. Bartram, and occupied by Stephen and Clark, both being insured. Three motor-cars were burnt in the neighbourhood during the week.
