TIME NOT RTPE FOR BALLOT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 10. The Railway Officers’ Institute Conference to-day resumed discussion on the proposal that a ballot of members be taken with a view of linking up witli the Alliance of Labor. After a lengthy debate it was resolved that the conference, after having given the matter serious consideration, and in view of the trend of current events, is of opinion that the time is not ripe to» take a ballot on the question, but direct® the executive committee to keep in closq touch with the situation.
