CUT IN WAGES.
SOUTH CANTERBURY PROTEST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. At a meeting of the combined public servants of South Canterbury it was decided to make an emphatic protest against any further cut in wages, as the cost of living did not warrant it, as proved by the Arbitration Court only reducing Avages 5s a week, though the public servants’ reduction of 6s a week had been in force four months prior to the Court’s judgment operating. The meeting pledged itself to stand by the executive in whatever action it may take.
