The Chicago Daily News states cables and private advices declare Lenin is absolutely eliminated from the Russian situation, and a crisis is developing which must inevitably affect entire Europe. Brain trouble, a paralytic stroke or an acute breakdown is taking Lenin out of the situation, if not out of the world. In any event his active career has ended. No one has yet appeared who is ready to take up Lenin’s policy of slow but steady reconciliation with the other Powers of Europe.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. A SERIOUS ILLNESS. RECOVERY NOT EXPECTED.
