INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) June 6. The scheme for raising a memorial in honor of those from the district who gave their lives in the European War has been in the background for a long -?no.re sum isa.iaiur qouj ut ‘[t]nn 'aunq ed on the subject by the euchre party and dance fixtures that have lately taken place. Now a grand concert in aid of the jldiers’ memorial is to be given in the Town Hall. The announcement of the death of Mr. Thomas Alford Bocock, of Inglewood, which occurred on Sunday last, came as a shock to his large circle of friends and acquaintances in Inglewood and adjoining districts, where, through his connection with the dairying machinery business, he had during late years become well and favorably known. His genial and obliging manner had made him justly popular, and now on all sides may be heard expressions of sincere sympathy with the bereaved widow and children. The funeral will take place at the Inglewood cemetery on Wednesday afternoon. The late Mr. Bocock was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bocock, of New Plymouth.
