The results of the Toko Settlers’ Association butter-fat competitions for the past season have been announced as follows: Mr. J. W. Crowe, 28 cows, 94731b5. butter-fat, average , per cow 338.31b5., 1; Mr. J. R. Woollaston, 24 cows and one half period, 67031b5. butterfat, average 273.51b5., 2: Mr. M. Gernhoefer, 40 cows, 10,3921b5. butterfat, average 259.71b5. 3. The competitors numbered 10. The prizes will be presented to the winners at the association’s annual social in the Coronation Hall, Toko, on Thursday night. STRATFORD GOLF CLUB. The men’s medal golf match play for last week resulted: J. Salmon, 88—14 —74; P. Wright, 80—2—78; R. B. Anderson, 92—12—80; H. D. Hill, 97—16 —81; J. E. Winter, 91—10—31; F. D. P. Jeffries, 96—14—52; E. S. Rutherfurd, 98—16—82; W. P. Pratt, 105—18 —B7; J. Lyons, 107—16—91; R. H. Burmester, 111 —18 —93; Murphy, 119 —12 —97. Mixed foursomes will be played this week, and partners will be drawn for. GENERAL ITEMS. Sir Walter Carncross, of Eltham, has received the following telegram from 1 the Mayor of Stratford (Mr. J. W. Me- 4 Millan): “Hearty congratulations from I the Mayor, councillors and burgesses of Stratford on honor conferred by His Majesty the King.” Sir Walter dispatched the following reply.- ‘T thank • you sincerely for your congratulatory telegram, the kindly tenor of which i was greatly appreciated by self and family.”
In the Darragh card shield match at Ngaere to-morrow night, the Stratford Druids will be represented against Ngaere by the following: J. Jones, B. Green, W. Wells, A. Nelson. H. Leatch, J. Main, S. Reader, W. Rudkin, B. Rowe, A. Klee, J. H. Sharrock, C. Hyndman, L. Rois, B. Jeffries. Emergencies : E. Mumby, O. Boldt, W. Ferguson, C. Fowler. A lorry will leave the post office at 7 o’clock feharp. The hockey team to represent Stratford against Eltham, at Eltham. on Thursday, has been selected as follows: L. R. Curtis, B. Curtis, H. Masters, C. Clarke, W. Sharrock, D. McKearney, A. G. Lowry, McMillan, Cottier, Selby, Ranford, R. Wilson. Emergencies: Dodd, Betts and Milne. A lorry leaves the post office at 2 p.m. sharp. Mr. C. Forbes, the newly appointed foreman to the Stratford Borough Council, arrived in Stratford With his wife and family from Auckland last night, and commences duty shortly. •Nurse Rae, late of Stratford, has gone into Karitane. Hospital for six months. At the end of her training she will take up her residence at New Plymouth.
