SHEEP-DOG TRIALS.
CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Whangarei, Last Night. A championship sheep-dog trial meeting commenced to-day at Kamo, Whangarei, under excellent weather conditions and splendid management by the president (Mr. J. A. Finlayson) and the local committee. Mr. T. W. Muir, of Taihape, acted as judge. Twenty-two competitors went out in the long head, J. M. Butler’s (Opitiki) Ring being first, with 43 points; A. C. Morton’s (Pemberton) Moss second, with 42; and G. H. Milne’s (Tangiteroria) Skye third, with 41. Competitors were well pleased with the course. There was a good attendance of the public. The trials will be continued to-morrow and Thursday.
