TOOK A DOCTOR’S OAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, June 1. Six weeks’ hard labor was imposed on Edward McCarthy for having converted a motor-car, the property of a doctor, to his own use on the night of May 20. HON.. C. J. PARR’S TOUR. Westport, June 1. The Hon. C. J. Parr to-day visited the schools in the mining townships of Granity, Millerton, Stockton, Denniston, and Burnett’s Face, also the Denniston cottage hospital, and received numerous deputations concerning local matters. To-night the Minister delivered addresses at the Plunkett Society’s annual meeting and at the W. E. A. Literary Claes. The Minister loaves in the morn, ing for Nelson.
