ENGLISH COUNTY MATCHES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 4, 5.5 p.m. London, June 2. Surrey beat Sussex, 162 and 164. Fender took four wickets for 34 and Peach four for 38. Middlesex (289 and 199) beat Nottingham (194 and 209). Essex (541 for seven wickets) declared. Northants made 230 and 260 for four wickets. Rain stopped play, and the match was drawn. Lancashire, having won all seven .matches in which they have played, leads in the championship table. The success is largely due to Parkin’s bowling.
