FIRE ON THE DEVON.
OUTBREAK EXTINGUISHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association Christchurch, Last Night. By this morning all trace of the fire in the steamer Devon had disappeared. The bunkers will be clear to-night, when a thorough survey will be made. The following telegram was sent to Lloyd’s by Sir Joseph Kinsey: “Fire on Devon well in hand and quite safe.”
