DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The dancing and piping competitions commenced to-night. There was a large attendance and big entries, competitors being present from practically all parte of the Dominion. Results: — Strathspey and Reel-playing (all comers).—John Cameron (Southland) 1, Chas. MacDonald (Wanganui) 2, Archibald McMillan (Dunedin) 3, Angus McMillan (Dunedin) 4. Twelve competitors'. Sean Truibhais (girls, 10 to 12 years). —Doreen Wheeler (Dunedin) 1, M. Duffy (Dunedin) 2, Kitty Murray (Otago) 3. Sixteen competitors. Sword Dance (boys, 12 to 15 years). —Chas. Spear (Dunedin) 1, R. Sinclair (Dunedin) 2, Jack Mayhew (Invercargill) 3, Ernest Firkin (Timaru) 4. Seven competitors. Sailor’s Hornpipe (men). —Norman Kilgour (Timaru) 1, Robert Clark (Dunedin) 2, George Anderson (Dunedin) 3. Highland Reel (boys and girls, 15 to 18 years). —Thelma Gillespie (Dunedin) 1, Thelma McKenzie (Wellington) 2. Violet Paterson (Dunedin) 3, Grace Cameron (Balclutha) 4. Fourteen competitors. Irish Jig (girls, 12 to 15 years).— Jean McLachlan (Wellington) 1, Eileen McCarthy (Dunedin) 2, Teresa Kyle (Timaru) 3, Ruby Robinson (Dunedin) 4. Fifteen competitors.
