BIG SCHEME PROPOSED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. The Gisborne Harbor Board held an important meeting to-day to discuss the proposal to iproceed with Mr. Leelie Reynolds’ scheme for the outer harbor. Mr. Smith (chairman) first moved that the board proceed with the whole scheme, which would cost £1,000,000. After discussion, the motion was amended by the chairman to read that the board should proceed to take a poll of ratepavers for a . loan of £600.000 to construct the first instalment of the Reynolds’ scheme, subject to its rescinding a motion carried 12 months ago. that the whole scheme be adopted, and also a motion relating to the work being proceeded with subject to the successful termination of litigation. The chairman’s amended was adopted.
