The wool textile industry wages settlement for twelve months involves a reduction of two shillings to three shillings weekly in the pay of two hundred thousand operatives. The scale will be 75 per cent, above pre-war for some workers and 65 per cent, for piece workers.

Hughes (Secretary for State) to immediately inquire -from the French Government regarding a report that a French military court in Damascus sentenced Charles Crane, a former American Minister to China, to twenty years’ imprisonment. Later the State Department denied the report.
