REPARATIONS.

GERMANY’S NEW PROPOSAL. CONDITIONAL ON LOAN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received May 28, 5.5. p.m. Berlin, May 27. The Cabinet is considering proposals which Herr Hermes discussed with the Reparations Commission at Paris. It is reported these include Germany’s consent to cut down her expenditure drastically, and if unable to balance the Budget thereby she will impose additional taxation. She will also cease printing paper money and withdraw from circulation all notes printed since March thirty-first. These proposals are conditional on Germany obtaining a foreign loan. The Chancellor disapproves of the proposals, as going beyond his pledges to the Reichstag.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
