EXTREME LABOR’S MOVE. ACTION IN AUSTRALIA. A STORM OF PROTEST. ] By Telegraph.—Press Assn-.—Copyright. Received May 28, 11.15 p.m. Sydney, May 28. A storm of protest has been caused amongst the New South Wales labor leagues and unions by the adoption by the inter-State Labor Conference at Brisbane of the doctrines of the Moscow Internationale in place of the White Australia in the Australian Labor Party’s objective, and will be the subject of a contest at the annual conference on Saturday next. A strong section has developed which is outspoken in its resentment of the attitude of the Brisbane conference in removing all traces of Australian sentiment from the Labor objective. The proceedings at the coming conference will decide the fate of socialisation. If the conference ratifies the new objective framed at the Brisbane convention, it will, in the opinion of many delegates, be useless to discuss the greater portion of the business submitted by the leagues and the unions, as most of the motions are quite inconsistent with the scheme for the control of industry by a supreme economic council, which is the corollary of the new objective. The business paper clearly indicates that, as explained in a statement issued by the Australian Labor Party, the rank and file have not been organised to a point of understanding the propositions, and socialisation is an uncomprehended objective.
