Mrs. Cuthbert spoke of the business side of the society. She said it was started in Stratford in 1914, under the direction of the Hawera branch. Four years later they were able to support a nurse of their own, and Inglewood was visited once a week. Later Inglewood bad joined up with New Plymouth, and it became necessary to make up for the financial loss of the branch. The annual expense incurred was about £250.
