RAID BY WILD FOWLS.

AUSTRALIA’S LATEST MENACE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 24, 11.15 p.m. Sydney, May 24. Wild fowl have invaded lagoons and lakes in the Narrabri district in countless thousands. There has been much shooting, but without much apparent effect, and as the lakes are drying up the congestion of birds is polluting the dams and other stock drinking places. Owing to the shortage of aquatic plant growth through the dry season, the birds are invading paddocks adjacent to their haunts, from which they are eating out the green grass and herb-age.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
