WEALTHY MAN’S ACTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 24, 11.15 p.m. Melbourne, May 24. George Cronin was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, and Maisie Badham, who was living with Cronin, and who participated in the robbery, received nine months’ imprisonment. A cablegram from Melbourne on April 21 stated: A whole family named Cronin, consisting of Samuel Cronin, his wife Mary, and his son George (aged 21), have been arrested on a charge of stealing £lOOO worth of goods from a dwelling occupied by Charles Simpson, who is a squatter. The Cronins are extensive propertyowners, and very wealthy.
