TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY .MEETING The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday, 17th and 18th instants. Present: Messrs. H. J. Lowe (chairman), S. Blake, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland, and J. W. H. Martin. Notice was received of the reappointment of Mr. N. R. Cleland as a member for a further period of two years. The chairman and other members congratulated Mr. Cleland, who suitably responded. It was resolved to offer Section 10, Block 4, Ohura, to John Gray for cash, under section 131 of The Land Act, 1908; in the event of refusal the land to be offered at auction.
The following transfers were approved: Sub. 5, section 560, Town of New’ Plymouth, W. A. Horne to W. P. Martin: lot 7, section U, Town of New Plymouth, Gaius Brewer to E. A. Froggatt; lots 2, 3 and 4, section 2, Ohawe Town Belt, H. E. Harris to M. Barraclough. The following transfers were referred to Wellington for consideration:—Section 1, block 3, Totoro, Thos. Davenport to P. S. Cullen; section 5. block 7, Mapara, J. A. Menzie to J. A. and Harriet Menzie; section 14, block 9. Opaku, JI. W. Field to A. L. Bremer; section 275, Huatoki Settlement, trustees A. K. Arthur Worsop (deceased) to Norman McLeod; section 2, block 2, Piopiotea West, W. Hooks'to H. Goodwin. The transfer of section 4a, block . , Cape, from T. P. M‘Kenna to W. b. M Leod. was refused. The application of the Whangamomona County Council to have thirds Lorn section 1. block X Mshoe hypothecated for payment of interest on tile Putikituna Road loan was approv'd. Proposals for the expenditure Ox ttuxdß toy the Whaugamomona, CUftoa
and Inglewood County Councils were approved. A report was received on the relative merits of Messrs. Evans and Faby’s applications for sections 14 and 20, block 5, Tangitu, and it was resolved to divide the area between them. Permission was granted to Patrick Quinn to effect improvementss on section 31, block 1, Town of Matiere. Thirty-one applications under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Acts were dealt with, and of these one application for stock was deferred and six recommended; two applications for subdivision were deferred, one approved, and one refused; two applications to transfer were recommended, three adjourned, and one refused.
