NOTED BEAUTY’S DEATH.
UNHAPPY MARRIAGE SEQUEL. THE MELBOURNE TRAGEDY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 19, 7.5 p.m. Melbourne, May 19. Mrs. Fenton, one of the victims of the triple tragedy, was a noted beauty. Shj was one of the original members of the beautiful eight ballet that made its debut in the first production of “So Long, Letty.” She met Fenton two and a half years ago and fell in love with him. Her mother thought her daughter, who was then seventeen, was too young to marry, but Fenton followed her to Sydney, where they were secretly married. Mrs. Fenton left on a tour of New Zealand a month later, but broke her contract and returned to Sydney. The marriage proved unhappy, ending in the wife leaving her husband five months ago, taking her baby daughter, a month old.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
[The bodies of Allan Fenton, aged 23, and his wife, aged 19, were found on the bank of the Yarra, both with bullet wounds in the head. Later a man was found poisoned. It is believed to be a case of murder and suicide. Mrs. Fenton was an actress and was professionally known as Miss Audrey Anderson.]
