BOXING MATTERS. (From Our Own Correspondent). May 17. A meeting of the Eltham Boxing Association’s executive was held last evening, Mr. Forsyth presiding over a full ' attendance. Many letters members of outside associations euiogising the Eltham Association on their recent successful amateur tourney were read by the secretary (Mr. B. G. Taylor). The matter of sending representatives to the South Island championships was left in the hands of the match committee and secretary. Mr. Nuttall, fire inspector, wrote complaining of smoking during the 'last tourney, and suggesting that two firemen be employed at future tournaments. —Received. It was decided to report A. Clarry to the Taranaki Boxing Centre and ask A. Coleman for an explanation for their non-fulfilment of their engagements at the recent tourney. It was resolved that Cleary (New Plymouth) and Gray (Wanganui) be each granted medals’ Tor their and that Corliss and Muller receive the same grant, and that a letter of appreciation be sent Coulton and Smith for their excellent exhibition It was also resolved to forward a letter of appreciation to Tuku (New Plymouth) for the game tight he put tip.
