STRATFORD AGENCY. Advertisements and items of news for publication in the Taranaki Daily News should be left at the office of our local representatatlve. Mr. W. H. Humphrey, Broadway, Stratford. Orders for papers may also be left with him. THE MODEL FARM. May 12. The monthly meeting of the Stratford Model Dairy Farm Committee was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs. J. B. Richards, M. T. Phillips. W. H. Were, and K. Tarrant. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. J. W. Deem (chairman), E. Marfell, and S. Pitt. Mr. J. B. Richards was temporarily appointed 1 to the chair. The stock committee reported that two fat cows had been disposed of. The question of surplus stock was discussed, and it was decided that the stock committee shotlld report at the next meeting regarding the drafting of the herd. The manager reported for the month that 52 cows were being milked. The quantity of milk for the period was 24.978 lb, the test for the first period being 4.7 and for the second and third periods 5.0. The soft turnips were finishsed and the ground had been ploughed and worked ready for drilling oats. The piece of ground next the mangolds was drilled on April 29 with two bushels of Algerian oats and one bushel of Scotch tares. Field 6 had been harrowed and shut up for spring feed. A note of appreciation was recorded in connection with the loan of a horse by Mr. E. Marfell. BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ CLUBS. The boys’ and girls’ clubs root crop competitions at Lowgarth were judged last week by Mr. A. G. Glasson. field instructor connected with the clubs. The results on the whole are stated to be a distinct improvement on those of previous competitions. The results were as follow: Carrots. —Ernie Jones, 32 tons 16 cwt.; Ben Ewans, 17 tons 18 cwt 3 qrs.; Dorothy McDonald, 13 tons 17 cwt.; Clarence Christenson, 16 tons 8 cwt. Mangold*.—lvy Burkitt, 62 tons 3 cwt.; Pat. Savage, 30 tons 7 cwt.; Joe Jones, 27 tons 10 cwt.; Ernie Christenson, 21 tons 13 cwt. A. & P. BALL. The Stratford A. & P. Ball, at the Town Hall last night, attracted a large attendance. Fox’s orchestra supplied 1 excellent music for the dancing, and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Messrs. E. H. Linnell, B. Richmond and D. M. Clark. The supper arrangements, in charge of Mrs. Songster and a committee of ladies, were a marked success.

THE KING’S THEATRE. TO-DAY AND TO-NIGHT. Probably the most costly array of furs ever seen" in a Paramount picture is worn by the principal woman character in “Experience, ’ which was produced under the direction of George Fitzmaurice, and which will be screened at the King’s Theatre, Stratford, commencing at the matinee to-day. Arrangements were made with a prominent furrier for 100,000 dollars’ worth of fur coats, etc. “Experience” is one of the most brilliant and most dazzling photoplays ever conceived, and it is played by a great aggregation of screen artists, including Richard Barthelmess, who takes the part of Youth. Gorgeous gowns, wonderful scenes of night life amid Broadway’s gayest resorts, are contrasted with dramatic situations against the background of vice in the underworld of the great city. The supporting items include Gazette, educational, and a Mack-Sen-nett comedy, also the serial. The box plan is at Humphrey’s; prices—dress circle 2s, stalls la 6d, plus tax. No extra charge will be made for booking.

GENERAL. The annual general meeting of the Stratford Musical Society will be held in the Parish Hall on Monday. May 10. Al) interested are invited to attend.
