VALUE OF NAURU PHOSPHATES. PRODUCTION MUST INCREASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Feilding, Last Night. The Premier officially opened the new Agricultural High School here to-day. He said the Government last year spent £3,40G,000 on education, and he did not know if they could keep that up. Referring to agriculture, he stressed the importance of Nauru Island phosphates. Last year New Zealand imported 20,000 tons, while Australia took 200,000 tons. This year New Zealand would take 80,000 tons, and he urged that we should absorb 100,000 tons yearly, in order to encourage / 7* an increase of exports of products of the land. Our exports last year were £43,(XKV* 000, and this must be increased.
