PUKEKURA PARK.
MEETING OF THE BOARD. The Pukekura Park Board met last night. Present: Messrs. G E. Bellringer (in the chair), W. F. Short, W. C. Weston, A. T. Moore, H. Dempsey, and P. E. Stainton (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr. R. C. Hughes. The chairman reported that as the result of the work on the sports ground and the shifting of the fence, improvements to the pathway bordering the ground wotfld be necessary.' It was decided to confer with the sports ground committee with regard to gravelling and laying out the new formation. ’ Further work in connection with the planting of the rose-bed was left to Mr. Dempsey, and the erection of two swings was placed in the hands of Messrs. Short and Dempsey. It was decided to acknowledge the efforts of the 4th Battalion Band in connection 'with the recital given in the park on Sunday last. The chairman stated that thera were two vacancies among the Government nominees on the board, and at the next " meeting he proposed to nominate Messrs. H Dempsey and J. McLeod for the positions. The former had already done good work as a Borough Council nominee on the board, while Mr. McLeod had rendered much service as a member of the sports ground committee.
