JAPANESE PLOT ALLEGED. A FOOT ON SHANTUNG. By Telegraph-—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 27, 5.5 p.m. Shanghai, April 26. Dispatches state that General Wu Pei Fu has complete evidence that General Chang Tso Lin’s expedition against, Pekin was a Japanese plot, designed to stir up strife in Shantung, and thus furnishing the Japanese with a pretext for sending troops, ostensibly to quell the warfare, but really to maintain a hold on the province and the railway. —Aus.-N.Z.
