H© was beaten by Major Leahy, army champion in 1913, who has one leg. WELLS BEATS LLOYD. Received April 25, 5.5 p.m. London, April 24. Wells beat LUoyd in the tenth round, Lloyd's seconds throwing in the sponge. ELTHAM TOURNAMENT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Eltham Boxing Association has decided to hold an amateur tourney on tfce night of May 10, and have arranged twelve good bouts. Amateurs from Wanganui, New Plymouth, Stratford, Eltham and surrounding districts have been arranged, and the association is looking forward to eettpse all previous records in the matter of entertainment. All the lads are now in training, and will be in good fettle for this monster tournament. Every succeas is due to the. Eltham Association, who in the past have always done their best to promote good clean sport for the public and encourage tie noble art of self-defence. A bumper house on the 10th will doubtless reward them for their efforts.
