Dempsey’s presence in England ha« intensified talk of another match with Carpentier, despite the former’s avowal that he is here for a holiday only. M. Deschamps is making excuses for Carpentier’s defeat in America and hinting that it would be agreeable to have another meeting. Critics are outspokenly decrying such a contest, which should not be allowed to be staged in Europe. 'The Evening Standard sums up the position’ by stating: “I-f Dempsey has come here to make a wad of money by knocking down a row of inferior fighting men we hope lie will be disappointed. That is not boxing, but merely low class commercialism.” Dempsey is enjoying hero worship, but objects to women desiring to kiss him.
Kilbane, who is also visiting Europe, is hinting that he would like a couple of matches, naively referring to prize Inoney he earned in other encounter*. Dempsey is witnessing Monday’s fight between Lloyd and Wells. —Aus.-k.Z. Cable Assn.

The referee stopped a contest between Bud Ridley and Louis Gracia, both from America, in the tenth round and declared ,it no fight, disqualifying Gracia for falling without being struck.
