MANSION LOST BY FIRE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 23, 5.5 p.m. London, .April 22. Harry Smith, a worsted spinner, of Leeds, and his wife, were committed ■for trial at Edinburgh on a charge of attempting to defraud the Yorkshire Insurance Company. It is alleged that accused, after buying a Linden 'Park mansion at Howich, insured the house and contents for £73,000 and then wilfully set it on fire in May, 1921, claiming £50,000 from the company." - * Aus.-N.Z.
