Regarding the New Plymouth water supply the borough engineer says in his March report: “The river has been more turbid the whole month, which must be expected with the almost daily rainfall in the back country. Flood heights were recorded of Bft. 6in., sft. to 6ft. 6in. Foi’ four days following the opening of No. 1 tunnel the water supply was very dirty, necessitating constant attention in cleaning out the filters. The outlet pipes from filters are being renewed where the spiral pipes are absolutely worn into holes.” Tenders for the memorial to Old Boys of the New Plymouth High School who fell in the Great War are about to be called. Elsewhere a liet of the fallen is given, and the association would welcome any information which would enable the committee to make the list complete. Relatives and friends are requested to furnish the hon. secretary (Mr. J. Bracken Wilson), box 69, New Plymouth, with any names that may be inadvertently omitted.
