The High Commissioner for New Zealand in London has cabled the following report and quotations in respect to butter and cheese, the date of the cable being April 13:— BUTTER. 1 Market quiet. Demand only -for butter available for the Easter trade. Prices receded early this week. New Zealand sold down to £8 16s (Is o£d per lb.), but recovered somewhat towards close. Present quotations are: New Zealand.—April 13, 178 s to 182 s per cwt. (Is 7d to Js 7Ad per lb); exceptional, 184 s per cwt. (Is 7£d per lb); unsalted. 180 s (Is 7-*4d per lb); April 8,180 s to 188 s per cwt. (Is 7%d to Is Bid per lb); April 1,188 s to 195 s j per cwt. (Is S%d to Is 9d per lb). I Australian (salted and unsalted). — . April 13, 166 s to 170 s per cwt. (Is 5%d ‘to Is 6%d per lb) ; exceptional, 172 s ! per cwt. (Is 6%d per lb); April 8, 170 s to 176 s per cwt.
