DEVELOPMENTAL QUESTIONS, By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Sydney, April 19. Cabinet has decided for the present year to reimpose the super-tax of fid in the £1 on incomes, but the ordinary tax on incomes will not be altered. Mr. Wearne, Minister of Lands, has announced that the Government is determined that land settlement will be the chief plank in its policy. Only a sound land policy will pull the State out of its financial difficulties. Cabinet considered the question of opening up and populating the country and adopted a minute in regard to various departmental questions, which has been telegraphed to Mr. Hughes with the object of opening up negotiations with the Federal Government for the purpose of financing developmental works, with assistance from the British and Federal Governments. Parliament meets on the 26th inst. for a short session.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
