THE KAPONGA TOURNAMENT. The seven-aside football tournament in connection with the Kaponga sport* to be held on Thursday, April 27, bids fair to be a great success. Already seven teams have entered, including Petone (Wellington), one of the “crack” city teams. Included in the team are the two Nicholls Bros. (Mark and “Ginger”), and Ryan. Other intending competitors are reminded that entries for the tournament close with the secretary at Kaponga to-night. The trophy is a fine shield, presented by Mr. A. O. Casey, with gold medals to players in the winning team. REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. CENTRAL DIVISION. < The following referees have been appointed for matches in the central division on Saturday: Inglewood v. Midhirst, at Inglewood, 3 p.m., Mr. D. Blanchard. Stratford 111 v. Toko, at Stratford, 3 p.m., Mr. R. R. Tyrer.
