A MISSIONARY’S RELEASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A cable received by Mr. Chadwick Brown, honorary treasurer for the North Island of the China Inland Mission, announces the release of Dr. Howard Taylor, a missionary in China, who was captured by bandits. A cable from Pekin on February 23 stated: The wife of Dr. Howard Taylor, a British missionary, has appealed to the British Minister to save her husband, who is held a prisoner by bandits in Northern Yunnan. Mrs. Taylor herself was captured, but was released with instructions to demand 20,000 dollars ransom from her friends.
