POLITICS IN CHINA.
ACTING PREMIER APPOINTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 14, 5.5 p.m. Washington, April 13. The Chinese Legation has received advice* that Mr. Chow Tzuchi. a former Minister of Finance, and a prominent banker, has been appointed acting Prime Minister of China during Liang’s so-called leave of absence, which terminates in ten days. It i* not expected Mr. Liang will* resume the post unless Genera’ Wupeifu’s opposition is overcome. Mr. Chow’s appointment, while not immediately indicative of a complete change of Ministry, has had a reassuring effect in financial and commercial circles. Mr. Chow’s portfolio is the Ministry of Education.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
