COST OF RAT CATCHING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, April 12. Rat-catching operations have cost the City Council £443 to capture 2031 rats, or nearly 4s 6d per liead. The Mayor told the council he was quite satisfied that rats did not exist here to the extent they were ted to suppose. A private rat catcher had been at work for some years, and had kept them down. It was decided to discontinue operations after this month.
