SCULLING.
PADDON v. HADFIELD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, April 12. The final deposits of £2OO per man have been lodged with the stake-holder on behalf of Hadfield and Paddon, in connection with next Tuesday’s race for the world’s sculling championship and £5OO aside. Hadfield has finished his hard work on the river, and is now taking things steadily. Paddon is continuing solid work until Frida y. Both tnen appear to be very fit. A KEEN STRUGGLE EXPECTED. Wanganui, Last Night. Keen interest is being taken in the race for the world's sculling ehaanpionship fixed for 3.15 next Tuesday. Hadfield and Paddon have practically completed their training, though each will go on till tte day before the race. Paddon had a spell one day last wpek, and Hadfield did • likewise to-day. Hadfield is in great form, and Paddon has benefited materially by the warm weather recently experienced. He is doing very fine work, and if he goes to the post the Paddon of old he will give Hadfield the race of his life. The tide stould be Ideal for the race.
