ELTHAM.
BOWLING AND CROQUET. (From Our Own Correspondent.) April 11. On Saturday afternoon the Eltham croquet ladies met a representative committee of the Bowling Club to arrange the details in connection with the first annual combined social, which is to be held on the 18th instant. It was decided that the entertainment take the form of a euchre tournament till 10 pun., and from then on musical items, interspersed with dancing. At this social the bowlers will take the opportunity of bidding farewell to their president (Rev. J. G. Castle), who is leaving the district. The Croquet Club closes its season tomorrow with competitions for trophies presented by Mesdames O’Hagan, Hawken and Martin. It is the intention of the bowlers to play a ladies’ team at bowls left-handed on Easter Monday, and the Croquet Club will be represented by the following: Mesdames Carman, Fountaine, Campbell, Ross, Hawken, McKay, Tiplady, Judd. Stewart, Astbury, Feavall, Harrison and Chrystal.
