TO VISIT OPUNAKE RAILWAY. At yesterday’s meeting of the Eg-' mont County Council a telegram was received from the Hon. J. G. Coates (Minister of Public Works), notifying that he would be leaving Wanganui on Wednesday morning. 19th inst., and would visit the Te Roti line, returning to Wanganui the same evening. He would be pleased to attend to any matters requiring attention. Cr. O’Brien considered that it fitting that the chairman should meet the Minister at Hawera and journey with him to Kapuni, where the whole council would meet him and bring him to Opuhake, where he could be entertained at luncheon. He moved in this direction. Cr. Ferguson, in seconding, considered they should also invite the chairman of the Town Board, chairman of the Harbor Board, and chairmen of . dairy factories to meet the Minister after lunch This was agreed to, the resolution be ing carried.
