BURGLARS IN HOTEL BAR.

CASH REGISTER REMOVED. Some time after half-past ten o’clock on Wednesday night last a cash register, containing about £5 10s in money, together with nine bottles of spirits, was stolen from the bar of the Commercial Hotel, Palmerston North. At about 10.30 p.m. the licensee went into the bar through a door leading out of the parlor, the door in the corridor being locked for the night. When he passed through the parlor he noticed two men sitting there. On returning from the bar the licensee asked them if they were boarders, and they replied in the affirmative, stating they had booked up for the night. In the morning they were not on the premises, and it was found that one of the two cash registers in the bar was missing.
