EVERYBODY’S. LAST NIGHT OF “808 HAMPTON OF PLACER.” One of the most picturesque and gripping chapters of American frontier history is revived on the screen in Marshall Neilan’s picture version of Randall Parrish’s stirring story, “Bob Hampton of Placer,” which concludes at Everybody’s to-night. James Kirkwood has the title role in this story,, which is one of love and adventure, as well as battle with redmen tinder Sitting Bull. Wesley Barry’s smiling face and uncounted freckles will also be seen in a role especially created for him by Mr. Neilan. Marjorie Daw has the chief feminine part, and other important players to be seen in this production are Pat O’Malley, Noah Beery and Frank Leigh. The box plans are open at Collier’s. To-morrow’s change presents Antonio Moreno in the Vitagraph mystery adventure drama, “The Secret of the Hills.” THE PEOPLE’S. BUCK JONES IN “THE LAST STRAW.” As Tom Beck in “The Last Straw,” at the People’s to-night, Buck Jones will be seen as a cowpuncher working on a Californian ranch which is inherited by Jane Hunter, an Eastern girl. A band of cattle rustlers are active, and after Tom declines the girl’s offer to become foreman of the ranch, the job is taken by the real leader of the cattle bandits. ’ Later, when Tom sees the rustlers are planning to rob the girl’s ranch, he accepts the foremanship —and then falls in love with his employer. There follows a series of real western battles between cowboys and rustlers, in which the latter are completely overpowered, while Tom wins the girl-- as his bride. The bill includes a big Sunshine comedy scream, “One Moment Please,” and Fox gazettes.
