The chairman reported on the position concerning the proposal to make further accommodation for preparatory scholars at the girls’ school. He recalled that originally it was intended to put up a building to house 45 scholars, but the board had decided to increase this to give accommodation for 84. However, it was found that tJie cost was beyond the finances ot the board.—The matter was left in abeyance till next meeting. A letter was received from the hon. secretary of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club expressing their appreciation at being allowed the free use of the Boys’ High School grounds -for athletic meetings.
