an enjoyable gathering. RESULTS OF THE EVENTSThe Huiroa Athletic Sports Club’s second annual meeting was held on Mr. F. Mitchell’s grounds at Huiroa yesterday. Favored with excellent weather, there was a good gathering of local residents and visitors, and with arrangements in the hands of an energetic committee a fine day’s sport resulted. There was keen competition in a comprehensive programme of events, handsome trophies or cash prizes being attached to each event. The catering by the Stratford Marble Bar Company was a feature of the meeting, their spacious marquee shading a tempting display of sweets, drinks, luncheon and afternoon tea. The committee responsible for the conduct of the meeting comprised: The chairman (Mr. J. Allan), clerk of course (Mr. G. Ritchie), bellman (Mr- L. Fox), starter (Mr. H. Read), handicapper (Mr. A. G. Rutherfurd), auditor (Mr. W. H. Wallace), treasurer (Mr. A. Read), secretary (Mr- F. Butler), committee (Messrs. A. J. Allan, W. M. Martin, D. C. Lind, G. Ritchie, W- H. Wallace, T. Christian, A. G.
